About the Event

The Townsville Careers Expo is an annual event and now in its 7th year. The event features around 60 organisations.

At the expo you can meet with -

• Private Education Training Colleges
• National and Local Employers
• NEW - WorldSkills Australia Try'aTrade
• CCIQ Job Shop "Real People for Real Jobs"
• Defence Forces
• Government Training, Agencies and Employers
• Apprenticeship and Traineeship providers
• Students Services and more!

With the State Government identifying skills shortages in a number of key industry areas, there has never been a better time to consider a job and career in one of the various careers pathways on offer at the expo. There are more opportunities to undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship than ever before and the expo will showcase ways in which visitors can undertake these programs or as adults training or retraining in the workplace.

In the WorldSkills Australia Try'aTrade area, visitors can try their hands on a wide range of trade skills. Further details on the range of trades included in the Trya'Trade area will be announced closer to the event date.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) Job Shop was staged again in conjunction with the annual Townsville Careers Expo in 2010.With the focus of the event being “ Real People for Real Jobs, ” visitors were able to meet face to face with local and national employers that will had current vacancies on offer.
